Did you hear:

Until a few days ago, the meeting between Halaçoğlu (president of the state-directed Institute of Turkish History) and a historian of the Armenian genocide,  Ara Sarafyan was trumpeted from all media outlets. Now we hear this meeting was canceled. Why? Because one of the parties refused to share all historical documents from the archives. Who might this be? The Institute of Turkish History. The Plague of our times: Nationalism

Picasso - Guernica Picasso - Guernica

We live in strange times. While humankind is producing some of its most spectacular achievements in sciences and human welfare at an unprecedented rate, inexplicably we also have produced a situation where an unprecedented amount of suffering, wars, massacres, genocides, fundamentalism, and ecological disaster keep haunting us.

There exists a significant number of social scientists and thinkers working on many of these issues. The purpose of this site is to expose merely one of these diseases that plague billions of people around the world, and perhaps give support to the unaffected minority.

So, a disease? Yes, a disease. Nationalism is a disease, and unfortunately the disasters it keeps causing trouble not only the infected, but everyone. The existing problems in the world are only made worse by nationalism, when it does not actually add to that sad long list.

The sitemap on the left side points to pages where different dimensions of nationalism and its effects are displayed. From history to sports, nationalism poisons our lives everyday, with no turning back. These pages will be constantly updated.

On the right side, you will find links to our pages covering significant issues that keep resurfacing as controversies. In times when the nationalist virus seems to have infected everywhere, we hope that you will find this site a safe and sane haven.
